Healthy Skin

We are what we eat is never more obvious than in the health of our skin.
Although we can get away with an unbalanced diet that is poor in nutrients for a time, it soon becomes evident on our skin.
Skin begins to show signs of stress and can be dull and greyish in apearance. There is no natural glow to the skin and problems fron dry, flaky patches to excess oil production, pimples and even cold sores can be outward signs of an insufficiently nourished or stressed system. Fine lines begin to become more evident, the skin looks less supple and smooth.
To help the appearance of the skin, try to reduce or eliminate:
Caffeine Chemical Sweetners Alcohol Cigarettes Colourants Flavour Enhancers eg MSG
Preservatives Hydrogenated Fat Deep Fried Foods Highly Processed Foods
Try to increase:
Fresh fruit and vegetables of all colours Hydration – drink water frequently Wholegrain foods Foods as close to their natural state as possible Low fat skimmed milk, cheeses and yoghurt Omega 3 6 9 essential fatty acids eg flaxseed and salmon oils Alcohol free days
Combine this with plenty of sleep and exercise to promote circulation and blood flow to the skin and your skin will respond by becoming clearer and healthier. As a bonus you will feel healthier and better too.
